Project Overview

Tabesh Pajouhan Sanat (TPS), a specialized contractor in power plant and substation monitoring systems, successfully designed and implemented the monitoring system for the 100 MW solar power plant in Mahallat. The project utilized TPS’s proprietary product suite, including SCADATech automation software, industrial Time Server, Remote IO modules, and an industrial Modbus RTU to IEC60870-5-104 gateway with SNMP protocol support, enabling real-time and efficient monitoring of the plant’s performance.

Key Project Features

  • Objective: To deliver an advanced monitoring system for overseeing plant equipment performance, enhancing efficiency, rapid fault detection, and managing large-scale operational data.
  • Products Used:
    1. SCADATech Software: A proprietary SCADA platform for managing and displaying plant data with a simple and user-friendly interface, compatible with standard industrial protocols.
    2. TPS Industrial Time Server: A device ensuring precise equipment synchronization with sub-millisecond accuracy, guaranteeing reliable data and event logging.
    3. Remote IO Modules: Monitoring of digital inputs and control of digital outputs from various equipment such as inverters and sensors.
    4. Industrial Modbus RTU to IEC60870-5-104 Gateway: A device enabling protocol conversion from Modbus RTU to IEC60870-5-104 with SNMP support, facilitating advanced monitoring and network integration.
  • Implementation:
    • Deployment of equipment at strategic plant locations for data collection and transmission from inverters, meteorological sensors, and other equipment.
    • Establishment of a central system for real-time monitoring and control using SCADATech and the industrial gateway.
    • Implementation of SNMP protocol for enhanced device monitoring and network management.
    • Training of Mahallat plant personnel for system operation and maintenance.
  • Results:
    • Comprehensive and precise monitoring of high-capacity plant performance.
    • Enhanced operational stability and efficiency using indigenous technologies.
    • Advanced integration with standard protocols (IEC60870-5-104 and SNMP) for improved data management.
    • Flexible design to support future expansions and system scalability.

Conclusion

The Mahallat 100 MW solar power plant monitoring project exemplifies TPS’s expertise in delivering innovative, locally developed solutions for the renewable energy industry. By leveraging TPS’s cutting-edge products and the new industrial gateway, the project optimized plant performance and made a significant contribution to sustainable energy development in Iran.
